Welcome to the second issue of Geotechnical Research, the new Gold Open Access journal published by the Institution of Civil Engineers.

As the first fully Open Access journal in its discipline, Geotechnical Research guarantees fast-track online publication, and immediate worldwide dissemination, of recent research and industrial developments in the field of geotechnical engineering.
